ABB Corporation introduces its new centralized software platform ABB – Ability trademark that connects customers and provide single cloud-computing platform.

ABB Company has rebounded this year by focusing on the growing rate of digital services. It has also prepared itself to take the advantage from the industrial internet of things (IoT).
ABB is offering its new digital services under its new brand named as ‘ABB Ability’. ABB Ability solution has an alliance with the Microsoft to offer a single cloud computing platform for its cloud customers and there will be also offering a new post for chief digital officer.
In the past since the company launched it has been better known for its product such as providing electricity grids and despite of new activist investments they are going to spin this division off, but even it remains the core activity of the company. The company’s 55% of sales come from the software components and the company reckons that there are 70 million ABB devices are operating around the worldwide that could be connected to the internet that may also grow up the overall revenue of the company.
Dai Richards, the global marketing manager at ABB Consulting, said that “the new identity will be launched in the march in the UK, Dai Richards also said “People aren’t doing a lot of analysis, and they’re certainly not taking action as a result of that analysis, so going through those next two steps is where we see the big opportunity.”
The company is developing the new digital services that will capture the data from the connected nodes of devices, the company analyses the captured data and also use it to “close the loop” by improving the industrial process.
The instance of remote monitoring of an industrial system, while a device connected to the internet has been installed, now it can report back its condition to the virtual control room and the response of the system has been preserved for a while any fault might occur.
ABB is hoping to replace the analogue system with the new digital system gradually in the future.
